The closest airport is Traverse City (TVC) which is a 30 minute drive from Fountain Point. You can rent a car or take a taxi from the airport. View Driving Directions
The driving time from Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) is 4.5 hours.
Prices often go up as summer approaches and there are limited flights in and out of Traverse City so we recommend you booking your tickets sooner than later.
Renting a car isn't necessary, as all of the events will take place at Fountain Point, and the town of Lake Leelanau is about a 20 minute walk from the grounds (and you can take boats into town too!) However, it is recommended as the surrounding area is a beautiful national park worth exploring. Think about getting a groups of friends/family to potentially rent a car together to share for the weekend.
One of the reasons we picked Fountain Point as our destination wedding location, was because it offered the opportunity to enjoy everything wonderful about a Northern Michigan summer all in one place!

Great for wandering around and taking in a little charm & history. There are several boutiques and some great eateries including; Sandwich's at The Village Cheese Shanty, "Chubby Mary's" at The Cove, Local Fish at The Blue Bird
Drink your way around the peninsula! There are over 25 wineries as well as a distillery, and a few breweries!
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is located along the northwest coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in Leelanau County and Benzie County. The park covers a 35 mile stretch of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline, as well as North and South Manitou Islands. In 2012 it was voted "The Most Beautiful Place in America" by Good Morning America.
Fun and easy hike that takes you through the woods and along the coastline of Lake Michigan.
